If you love to sew, quilt, embroider or just make beautiful things, then fabric block printing is for you! Uncover the fascinating world of fabric block printing in this hands-on workshop.  "Block Print Your Own Fabric!" is designed to introduce you to the art of block printing on fabric, where you'll learn the basics of design, carving, and printing to create your very own textile masterpiece!

Workshop Highlights:

  • Design Exploration: Dive into the world of design as you sketch, conceptualise, and plan your fabric patterns. Explore how to adapt your ideas to the medium of block printing, considering symmetry, repetition, and visual balance.

  • Carving Techniques: Experience the satisfaction of carving your design into a rubber stamp. Gain insight into the tools, materials, and techniques used in the carving process to achieve striking and graphic motifs.

  • Ink and Printing: Discover how to apply ink to your carved block and transfer it onto fabric, creating visually captivating designs.

  • Hands-On Practice: Put your skills to the test as you print your designs onto a fat quarter, a tea towel or a tote bag. Embrace the hands-on nature of the craft and witness the transformation of blank fabric into personalised artworks.

  • Guidance from an Expert: Benefit from expert guidance as I share my knowledge, tips, and tricks for successful fabric block printing. Receive one-on-one support to help you overcome challenges and refine your technique.

  • Creative Community: Engage with fellow participants who share your passion for creativity. Share experiences, exchange ideas, and connect with like-minded individuals in a welcoming and collaborative environment.

This is a three hour workshop. No prior experience is required.
